Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I’m Ol Adams. I founded Letter Review, and I'm thrilled that you're considering taking this course.

I'm a casual academic and guest lecturer at UNSW, where I teach Creative Writing. I'm also a PhD candidate there at the moment.

I really enjoy studying, practicing, and teaching creative writing. I can't believe I get to discuss things related to writing all day long. I hope this course brings you as much joy as it gave me researching and writing it.

A little bit more about me: I write short stories, novels, plays, and screenplays. My stories have been professionally published in leading journals like Southerly, Overland, TEXT, and Seizure. My first novel Aos Si was longlisted for the Kill Your Darlings Award.

I’ve worked as a short story assessor for Overland Literary Journal, and a playscript assessor for Griffin Theatre Company.

My debut play The City won a government grant and was professionally performed at a major theatrical venue. My debut screenplay Ulysses received a $25,000 funding grant and is currently in development.

I’m the reviews editor at Southerly Literary Journal: my reviews have appeared in Southerly, Audrey Journal, Artshub, and elsewhere.

I can't wait for you to start progressing through this course I've designed. I think you're going to have a truly special story by the end.
